dolls for my mumsie

These are the figures (ok, ok, dolls,) that I made for my mom for Christmas. They're not for playing with, of course, just for display... the hair is faux fur, and their skin were painted with really thin acrylic washes. They don't really have bodies... really just soft wormlike tubes with no legs, and wires with hands on the ends. Those parts just hide under the blanket, so it's ok.

  • awww....

you totally upstaged me on my present for my mom (you'll see what it was when you (finally) get your christmas package) i can see what you meant - i think any mom would go weepy getting something like this.

but really, you can't say much more than "awww..."

  • AWWWWWW....

No seriously, this is amazing! The expressions and features are so soft and apealing, and the setup is so nice, it gives me such a warm fuzzy feeling inside :). You rock Sarah!

That other bust on the previous entry is also way cool! We gotta talk sculpture next time I see you, I wanna know your technique, steal your secrets, gain power! Uhh, I mean, uh, french stuff, and stuff. Ciao!

  • Eliot: I WANT MY CHRISTMAS PACKAGE NOW! Oh postal service, why are you so much slowness, why can't you keep up with the frantic pace that the electronic age demands??? But you know what, my mom didn't cry THAT much, because my sister and I warned her, so she was ready for emotion. She just got all misty-eyed and choked-with-emotion quiet. Aw geez. I really love my mom. She's so cute. Like your mom.
    Mom's are so neat.

G-man: Thanks! Coming from you, master of all mediums (I've seen your 3D stuff!) I'm very very flattered. We can talk sculpture, but it'll more be me stealing techniques from you, than vice-versa. My technique is: take clay, push it around till it looks like something, cook, paint. very complex.
See yah reading/craft night! It's gonna be awesome!
